Last Minute Christmas Gifts with Intu

12:00

As much as I love getting all of my Christmas shopping ready and wrapped in advance, there are some things you simply have to leave until the last minute.

If you’re a foodie like me, then you’ll probably be more excited about all of the incredible festive foods and drinks that are on offer at this time of year. My parents bought us a food hamper last year filled with cheese, chutneys, olives, booze and chocolates and it was pretty much the best present we’ve ever been given. BUT, if you buy those things too far in advance, they won’t be very edible come Christmas Day.

Thankfully for you, Intu is open until 10pm for the rest of the week, meaning you don’t have to make a last minute dash to the busy supermarket (because that will be everyone’s worst nightmare). Here are some of the best gifts for those food and drink lovers that have caught my eye!

The Cheese & Wine Emporium in Derby is fast becoming one of my favourite places. It's like all of the best bits of a Christmas market (cheese and wine, obvs) in a year-round shop! I stocked up on some of the smelliest cheeses for Christmas shenanigans, as well as some gifts for family.

Carluccio's has some pretty awesome gifts beautifully packaged ready to give to the foodie lovers in your life. From mini chocolate stocking fillers to huge hampers bursting with tasty festive treats, they would all make such lovely gifts. I fell a little bit in love with this Panettone with Prosecco.

Last but certainly not least, there's Boots. Take advantage of their 3for2 offer and stock up on all of the essentials. I always love their selection of Nando's treats, and couldn't resist snapping up this trio of condiments from The Hairy Bikers. Mint sauce, Apple sauce and Mustard. What else do you need at Christmas-time?!

A heads-up to those of you planning to give foodie presents… you may want to give a slight hint to the person that’s receiving the gift so they can pop it in the fridge or somewhere cool. No one wants to experience the smell of a camembert left underneath the Christmas tree, by the fire, overnight – speaking from experience.

I’m signing off now until after the Big Man has been, so from myself, Rob & Sid… we hope you have a Merry Christmas!
